چکیده

We analyze a priority queueing system with congestion control based on thresholds. A priority queue with a triple of thresholds consisting of an abatement threshold, an onset threshold and a discard threshold was investigated by San-qi Li. We extend Li's model to a priority queue with N triples of thresholds and obtain the stationary probabilities of queue length by using the Embedded Markov chain method. We obtain the loss probability and the mean delay of packet of each class. We apply our result to signaling system no. 7 network with a congestion control based on thresholds. Traffic congestion control using Smartphone sensors based on IoT Technology

Traffic congestion in road networks is one of the main issues to be addressed, also vehicle traffic congestion and monitoring has become one of the critical issues in road transport. With the help of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), current information of traffic can be used by control room to improve the traffic efficiency. The suggested system utilize technologies for real-time collect...

Performance Analysis of Reactive Congestion Control Based Upon Queue Length Threshold Values

Reactive congestion control based upon two thresholds is analyzed. Under the congestion control treated here, a multiplexer or transit node in the network recognizes congestion when its queue length reaches some pre-determined threshold value, denoted by H. The congested node then explicitly informs the sources sharing the node of its congestion in some way to mark a forward congestion notifica...

Analysis of Prioritized Scheduling of Assured Forwarding in DiffServ Architectures

Assured Service has been proposed within the Differentiated Services (DiffServ) model to provide relative service differentiation by attempting to allocate bandwidth to different users in a controlled way during periods of network congestion. In this paper, we analyze the Assured Service scheme by means of a priority queueing system with statedependent service scheduling based on thresholds. We...

Queueing Inventory System in a Two-level Supply Chain with One-for-One Ordering Policy

Consider a two-level inventory system consisting of one supplier and one retailer. The retailer faces a Poisson demand with a known rate and applies base stock (one-for-one ordering) policy. That is, his inventory position is set to a pre-determined level, so the demand pattern is transferred exactly to the supplier. The supplier has an inventory system and a service unit with exponentially dis...

Stabilization of an Overloaded Queueing Network Using Measurement-based Admission Control

Admission control can be employed to avoid congestion in queueing networks subject to overload. In distributed networks, the admission decisions are often based on imperfect measurements on the network state. In this paper, we study how the lack of complete state information affects the system performance, by considering a simple network model for distributed admission control. The stability re...
